How to install an external-type ODD

  1. Connect the necessary cable, then switch on the drive.
    • Connect the USB cable to the USB connector on the drive.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to your PC, TV or other devices.
    • Connecting to the PC(CD and DVD Media Writing and Playback is available)
    • Connecting to the TV (AV Connectivity mode)

      • (Only MP3, Photo and Video file formats are supported)

    • Connecting to the Tablet (AV Connectivity mode)

      • (Only MP3, Photo and Video file formats are supported)

  3. The Optical Disc Drive can be accessible when connected with a TV or Tablet USB port.
    – If the USB power is lower than the specified power requirement, then the ODD may not be operate correctly.
    Refer to “How to use AV Connectivity” for more information.
  4. Normal operation is not guaranteed if you use a USB hub or unspecified cables.
  5. PCs, TVs and other devices with insufficient USB bus power will not work correctly if you use only one USB port.
    In this situation please try with the ODD connected to two USB ports or connect an external battery.

Caution

If your computer does not have a USB connector, install a USB interface card.
